Sri B. Nagesh Rao is a senior social worker and child rights activist with more than 25 years of dedicated service in child protection and welfare. Since 1998, he has been working closely with vulnerable, neglected, orphaned, HIV-affected, disabled, and marginalized children across Andhra Pradesh. He has played a key role in child protection, child labor rescue, rehabilitation of children with disabilities, HIV-positive children care, and support to high-risk communities. As a former Member and Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Krishna District, he handled thousands of child protection cases under the Juvenile Justice Act, ensuring care, protection, restoration, and rehabilitation for children in need. Nagesh Garu has actively worked with Government departments, international agencies, and NGOs such as APSACS, NACO, USAID, FHI-360, UNICEF, Lions Club, and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. His work includes running open shelters, residential care homes, child labor rehabilitation centers, disability aid programs, and HIV intervention projects. He has directly contributed to the lives of thousands of vulnerable children providing access to education, healthcare, assistive devices, counseling, nutrition, and dignity. His commitment, ground-level experience, and compassionate leadership continue to guide RIDES Foundation in creating safe, inclusive, and hopeful futures for children and communities.
